Trump Says Iran’s Fate Is Sealed as US and Israeli Strikes Continue to Intensify

Date:

President Donald Trump declared on Friday that Iran’s fate was sealed, offering the country only one exit from the ongoing US-Israeli military campaign: unconditional surrender. The statement came as American B-2 bombers struck Iran’s deepest military bunkers and Israel pushed its offensive in Lebanon to new and unprecedented levels of intensity. No diplomatic path to a ceasefire has emerged.
The military campaign has targeted Iran’s most sensitive and protected assets. US B-2 stealth bombers, operating at the limits of their considerable capability, dropped dozens of 2,000-pound penetrating munitions on buried ballistic missile launch sites. The head of US Central Command personally briefed on the strikes. A large Iranian naval vessel used to project drone power across the Gulf was hit and possibly sunk. The defense secretary signaled that the operations so far were merely a prelude to what was coming.
Israel escalated dramatically in Lebanon. Evacuation orders covering more than one million people were issued, clearing the Dahiyeh district of Beirut and broader areas of southern Lebanon. Israeli jets struck what military officials described as Hezbollah’s command centers, weapons caches, and drone facilities embedded in civilian areas. The chief of staff said Israel was entering a new phase of the offensive and promised additional surprises. Hezbollah continued firing rockets and engaging Israeli troops near the border despite absorbing severe blows.
Iran maintained its retaliatory operations. Missiles and drones were launched at US military installations in Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain, with some intercepted and others reaching their targets. The Revolutionary Guards claimed strikes on Israeli military infrastructure and vowed to deploy new capabilities. Iranian internet connectivity dropped to approximately 1%, severely limiting information about conditions inside the country. The death toll inside Iran climbed past 1,230.
Trump has painted the outcome as inevitable. The White House press secretary clarified that Iran would be considered to have surrendered once Trump determined it no longer posed a threat — with or without Tehran’s formal acknowledgment. Iranian leadership, for its part, was convening to choose a new supreme leader and broadcasting scenes of national mourning and defiance. The fate Trump has declared sealed remains, for now, very much in contest.
