‘Existential Threat’ Doctrine Makes Russian Defeat Impossible, Envoy Claims

Date:

Russia’s “existential threat” doctrine, which governs the use of its nuclear weapons, makes the country’s defeat in Ukraine impossible, Ambassador Denis Alipov claimed.
“We have in our doctrine that if there is an existential threat to us, there is a possibility of its use,” Alipov stated, directly linking the policy to the war.
Because of this, he argued, “You can’t… take over us in this conflict,” regardless of the Western military and economic support flowing to Kyiv.
The ambassador characterized European hopes for a different outcome as “childish” and “unprofessional.”
He also asserted that President Donald Trump “understands” this, claiming Trump knows the war “is lost by Ukraine and the West,” unlike his “belligerent” European counterparts.
