Trump Unveils Tech-Driven Hamas Disarmament Plan; Awaiting Israeli Confirmation

Date:

In a recent announcement, U.S. President Donald Trump declared what he termed a “historic” agreement aimed at the complete disarmament of Hamas, describing it as a significant move towards resolving the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The announcement was made via social media, although it has yet to receive official confirmation from either the Israeli government or Hamas.

According to President Trump, the proposed plan involves Hamas gradually dismantling its military capabilities, including the destruction of its tunnel network and the surrender of heavy weaponry, all under international supervision. In return, the proposal outlines a phased withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. An international stabilization force, alongside a new Palestinian security administration, would then take charge of maintaining order in the region.

The roadmap reportedly demands a complete cessation of military operations before the commencement of the disarmament process. Subsequent steps would involve the dismantling of heavy weapons, tunnels, and military infrastructure, monitored by an international verification committee. Reports suggest that Hamas has accepted the framework in principle, with the disarmament preparations slated to begin within 14 days, contingent on international approval and consensus from all parties involved. However, official endorsement from Israel is still pending.

Israeli officials have emphasized their stance, insisting on the full disarmament and demilitarization of Gaza as a prerequisite for any broader agreement. They have expressed concerns that the current proposal does not adequately address their security requirements. Despite these diplomatic developments, military operations continued in Gaza, underscoring the uncertainty surrounding the practical implementation of any prospective agreement.
