18-Year-Old ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Actress Kaylee Hottle Dies in Car Accident

Kaylee Hottle, renowned for her role as Jia in the MonsterVerse films Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, has tragically passed away at the age of 18. The young actor’s life was cut short in a car accident that took place in Frederick, Maryland.

The Texas School for the Deaf, where Hottle was a student, confirmed her death and shared their deep condolences with her family, friends, and classmates. In their statement, they mourned the loss of a vibrant young talent whose presence was profoundly felt by all who knew her.

Local authorities reported that the accident occurred early on Tuesday morning when a 1995 Honda Accord, veered off the road and collided with a culvert. Investigators indicated that excessive speed might have played a role in the crash. Hottle, who was a passenger in the car, was rushed to a nearby trauma center but was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival.

The driver, a 19-year-old, sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, and another passenger involved in the incident declined medical treatment. The circumstances of the accident are still under investigation as the community reels from the loss.

Hottle’s portrayal of Jia, a deaf orphan with a unique bond with Kong, earned her widespread acclaim for authentically representing the deaf community in mainstream cinema.
